Washington - Republican Study Committee Chairman Mark Walker released the following statement after passage of the FY 2018 House Budget:

Chairman Black should be commended on this budget for reigning in spending and balancing in 10 years. I urge all Republicans to adopt and maintain this new course in spending so that by FY 2028 we will finally be in a place to begin paying back our $20 trillion in debt. As we finalize an agreement with the Senate, the congressional budget should achieve balance and include reconciliation instructions that allow the unified Republican government to fulfill our promises on tax reform as well as repealing Obamacare and reining in mandatory spending. Additionally, as this heads to conference, we must maintain the $203 billion in mandatory spending reforms.
