Chairman Walker on the Balanced Budget Amendment Vote

Republican Study Committee Chairman Mark Walker released the following statement after the House Judiciary Committee announced a vote on a Balanced Budget Amendment on the House Floor:

"I am grateful to House Leadership for honoring their commitment to vote on a Balanced Budget Amendment. Washington has demonstrated time and time again it lacks the political will to make the tough decisions required to contain the growth of government and spend within its means. Funding our present on the backs of our children and grandchildren is not compassionate or just. Leading responsibly so they may thrive and prosper is."

Background: Last October, Chairman Walker agreed to support the Senate Budget in return for a commitment on a vote on a Balanced Budget Amendment.
